Things to Know Before Delivery

New Sauna Checklist

Preparing for Your New Sauna

Bringing a sauna into your home is exciting, and a little preparation goes a long way toward a smooth delivery and perfect long‑term performance. Before installation day arrives, make sure the following essentials are taken care of.

1. Confirm Your Electrical Requirements

Every sauna—traditional or infrared—needs the correct electrical setup to operate safely and reliably.

  • Check the manufacturer’s electrical specifications for voltage, amperage, and breaker requirements.
  • Some saunas require a dedicated circuit, and many need hardwiring rather than a standard outlet.
  • Hire a licensed electrician if any wiring, outlets, or breaker adjustments are needed. This ensures everything meets local code and protects your warranty.
  • Complete all electrical work before delivery day so your sauna can be installed and tested without delay.

2. Prepare the Space

Your sauna needs a clean, accessible, and properly sized area to live in.

  • Measure the room to confirm you have enough space for the sauna footprint plus a few inches of clearance for ventilation and assembly.
  • Remove furniture, décor, rugs, or anything that may block access or interfere with installation.
  • Make sure the area is dry, well‑ventilated, and free of clutter.

3. Ensure the Floor Is Completely Level

A level foundation is critical for proper door alignment, panel fitment, and long‑term structural stability.

  • Use a level to check the floor in multiple directions.
  • If the surface is uneven, shims, leveling compound, or minor flooring adjustments may be needed.
  • Remember: Installing a sauna on an unlevel surface can cause operational issues and may void the manufacturer’s warranty.

4. Get Ready for Delivery Day

A smooth delivery starts with a clear path and an accessible installation area.

  • Clear snow, ice, debris, or obstacles from the delivery route.
  • Make sure doorways, hallways, and stairways are open and wide enough for sauna panels.
  • Keep pets secured and children away from the work area during installation.
  • Have your electrician scheduled so the sauna can be powered up once assembled.
